LA JUNTA - CURICÓ VALLEY

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new range of fabulous Wines from Chile – La Junta! The winery is located in the Curicó Valley towards the coast, at latitude 35º S. This valley extends from the base of the Andes Mountains to the Pacific coast. The valley is alluvial in origin, with loam-textured soils that change to deeper clay-loam nearer the coast.

VIÑAS DE BARRANCAS, MENDOZA

Sami Flichman bought land and founded his estate in Lulunta, southeast of Mendoza, in 1910. As there was a nearby vineyard, he assumed he’d be able to plant vines. However, the glacial riverbed soil on the property was too free draining at a time when he didn’t have enough water, so he came up with the ingenious and outrageous plan of bringing clay from the nearby Barrancas hills.
